I can’t believe these don’t have any marshmallow creme in them – they look just like what my mom used to make!My BFF is 8 months pregnant right now and craves rice cripsy treats – I’m going to make up a batch of these for her this weekend.Hearts, stars, unicorns, swags on the edges, fluted piping, and don’t forget to write your name and a few other sweet words on top! Powdered sugar, shortening, almond flavoring and milk. And not surprisingly, I haven’t really changed much since then! I don’t get hung up on the specifics; I just listen to my body and adjust accordingly.;) These bars look so amazing – you really cannot go wrong with nut butter chocolate! I used to love making rice krispie treats when I was younger too! But, I thought you might know how much we actually do need.
My youngest even enjoyed the leftover chocolate out of the bowl. I think Rice Krispy treats were among the first things I made, and I made them often, but my favorite thing to make was chocolate chip cookies, and that remains today! I was never a big rice crispy fan, but they have to be good with almond butter and chocolate. Peanut butter balls, no bakes, cakes, cookies-I was no stranger. You know, the truth is, I can get tired crunching my way to the summits of mountains, but I get exhausted just thinking about all the effort it takes for you to assemble some of these oustanding entries in your blog. My mom made a special version for me instead, using peanut butter and butterscotch chips, and they were my absolute favorite treat.Since peanut butter isn’t a staple in my diet anymore, I bet I would love this almond butter version!!I made your oatmeal raisin cookies last week and my husband gobbled them up, and last night I made the brownies with the teff flour. Oh maybe: “Moooom, you don’t get it, a treat just has to have marshmallows and sugar and butter in it! I used to love making cornflake crackle cakes (basically sugar, butter, syrup, chocolate all melted, stir in cornflakes (and sometimes raisins) and then spoon into fairy cake cases)- so easy because you only needed one pan and then were made so quickly :) Reply OHHHH EMMMM GEEEEEE!!! It wasn’t too hard, but I knew it wasn’t going to be the ultimate solution. Once I get up to the thousands of recipes you have, I’d love to have this sort of thing on my blog. :) There was also the time I wanted to make a “smoothie” and I made my nana peel about a thousand grapes for me because I didn’t want the peels in it.
